Click on title...get a "whizle" guide to blogging. The guide mentions not being concerned that nobody is reading your blog. It's a "just dive in" approach to the "art". Anyway, since we are moving along a week at a time on this, I backed off from running ahead because there are assignments. I have already used del.icio.us and LibraryThing. I have also found some cool tools such as http://goanimate.com/ After creating a mashup with silverlight, I discovered that people would have to download it to see my work. Flash is better.
I really like blogging. I started having ideas for themes to blog about that some "civilians" might take an interest in. I am looking for a widget that allows visitors to chat with each other on my blog. Now that would be convenient. It's like point of purchase advertising...you need to connect NOW. Not tomorrow or maybe next week sometime to get an impact.

How to find your public Bloglines URL:

Frankly, I have been really frustrated with bloglines because of a message that has continued to appear at the top of the page; "Your account has not been confirmed yet, please reply to the email verification message that was sent by Bloglines." I have responded to that e-mail numerous times to no avail, but I have continued to add to my list of feeds anyway.
The use of rss makes it easier to visit things/people since you can include their blogs/rss feeds on a blog or in e-mail. I especially appreciate being able to have the CML Learn and Play feed on the blog.

Ohio Weather
This "Ohio weather" post uses Microsoft's Popfly. Besides mashups, you can also create games and webpages without writing code. Clicking on each image takes you to more information.
My tweets are in the sidebar of this blog. I am so glad I can just put everything here. That way I can keep track of where I have been. Whew. I have been a lot of places in a very short time.

Library thing (click this title)
Doing things is the way I learn. You see the widget from Library thing in the side bar. While exploring, I found a similar site http://www.shelfari.com/ for sharing books as well as http://www.delicious-monster.com/ which Catalogs your books, movies, music, software, toys, tools, electronics, & video games. [...] “Wait, I just hold a CD or DVD or video game or book or whatever up to my webcam, and it magically reads the UPC and downloads that item’s cover and all pertinent information about it, and displays all my stuff on photorealistic shelves?”[...]
Delicious library has a very nice look, too. All the more pleasant to work with, my dear. Design is everything.
At this point, I haven't delved into the smartphone world. I keep things simple and inexpensive as possible. But http://krow.livejournal.com/535313.html gave some insite into using a smartphone at the book store where looking at your lists or other's lists of books comes in handy.
When it comes to using all these new tools, I think reading the opinions of other users very helpful as well as informative and they usually offer some extra sources that do similar things.
One thing leads to another. Librarything is a great way to connect with other people from the comfort of your home...or anywhere for that matter.
