The second link has all sorts of toys, games, and utilities. You can make badges, motivational posters, etc etc etc. I am still working on this, but research is going along well.

RSS and newreaders

I am stumbling and numb. I am still not all together sure what I am doing, but I managed to get an article (go to very bottom of this blog and click the subscribe to: posts/atom link)into this blog and suscribe to feedburner where I found this important tidbit of information;
FeedBurner Integration for Blogspot Blogs
"Starting right now, you just log into your Blogger account, select Settings | Site Feed, enter your FeedBurner feed address and click "Save Settings." Zap! Pow! Kraaakkkk! Now you've got the complete picture of how your content is being consumed out here, out there, out everywhere."

I am still learning about mashups and third party sites. Several staff have commented that they have been blogging for a while. This wasn't something I ever did before, but I am having a great time looking around at what is available.

Learn and Play today?

With everything going on, it has just been impossible to concentrate on the next "assignments" of learn and play. First it was the Olympic games and now it's OSU football. My my, what next? The holiday weekend is coming up and we have some planning and preparation at hand. Then there are possible plans with a close friend to book a flight somewhere in December to celebrate our birthdays. Whew....I have a life.
Yes, I will get around to devoting time to discovering the tools that I am sure will be delightful to use in this social networking experiment.....after this life break.

Go Bucks

Whether or not you are a football fan, you just can't escape OSU's grip on our senses every fall. Frankly, I am not a super fan, but I love all the fan fare. Our Buckeyes give us something to rally around and you just can't go wrong with the color scheme; There is none classier than the scarlet and gray. So, why not get into the hoopla, http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=17300&KEY=&SPID=10408&SPSID=87743
and stay up with the action? Besides, it's a good excuse to eat those melt in your mouth peanut butter and chocolate buckeyes.

2008 OLYMPICS

I was literally in tears watching the rhythmic gymnastics. The Circe Du Soleil http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/cirquedusoleil/default.htm may offer a place for these beautiful performances and the truly incredible skills required to accomplish them. I wonder if any of these gymnasts will be a part of that venue in the future. I am amazed at the combination of ballet, gymnastics, and juggling that is the rhythmic gymnastics performance. The costumes are absolutely stunning, too.
On a personal note, I think I was so touched because these performances epitomize in a lovely way what women are or try to be; graceful creatures trying to stretch to meet all challenges and juggle the basics along with our dreams.

Learn & Play

7 ½ Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners
Habit 1: Begin with the end in mind
Habit 2: Accept responsibility for your own learning
Habit 3: View problems as challenges
Habit 4: Have confidence in yourself as a competent, effective
learner
Habit 5: Create your own learning toolbox
Habit 6: Use technology to your advantage
Habit 7: Teach/mentor others
Habit 7½: Play!

Hardest for me = #5 because there are sometimes barriers that stop me from moving on and instead of finding some other way, I quit all together
Easiest for me = #71/2 because I truly like to have a good time. That may be why dancing was so easy for me. The more steps you learn the funner it gets.
